Star light, star bright by Anonymous

Star light, star bright,
First star I see tonight,
I wish I may, I wish I might,
Have this wish I wish tonight.

There was an old person of Dover by Edward Lear

There was an old person of Dover,
Who rushed through a field of blue Clover;
But some very large bees,
Stung his nose and his knees,
So he very soon went back to Dover.

There was an Old Man of the Nile by Edward Lear

There was an Old Man of the Nile,
Who sharpened his nails with a file;
Till he cut off his thumbs,
And said calmly, 'This comes--
Of sharpening one's nails with a file!'

Birthday Wish by Stuart Macfarlane

I met a nice fairy,
On the way home from school,
She granted me a wish,
She knew I was no fool.

I said weekly birthdays,
Would really be great,
For fifty two weeks,
Is too long to wait.

Now presents and presents,
Each week do arrive,
Weíve bought a bigger house,
In fact we bought five,

But the gifts keep on coming,
And thereís no room to store,
At first they were fun,
But now theyíre a bore.

But horror of horrors,
Is the effect upon me,
For Iíve outgrown my parents,
Iím now two hundred and three.

St. Jerome's Cat Traditional English Nursery Rhyme by Author Unknown

St. Jerome in his study kept a great big cat,
it's always in his pictures, with its feet upon the mat.
Did he give it milk to drink, in a little dish?
When it came to Friday's, did he give it fish?
If I lost my little cat, I'd be sad without it;
I should ask St. Jerome what to do about it.

I should ask St. Jerome, just because of that,
for he's the only saint I know who kept a kitty cat.
